Tips for the Best Performance

Here are some tips to get the most out of simpleMIDIController.

When Using Bluetooth MIDI

Keep Devices Close

Bluetooth MIDI works best within 1-2 meters. Greater distances can increase latency or cause connection instability.

Avoid Wireless Interference

Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, and USB 3.0 hubs are common 2.4GHz interference sources. Move away from them for a more stable connection.

Check Battery Levels

Low battery on your iPhone/iPad or MIDI device can degrade Bluetooth performance.

General Tips

Close Unused Apps

Too many background apps can drain system resources and cause instability. Close unnecessary apps before live performances.

Use USB MIDI for Lowest Latency

For recording or any situation where every millisecond counts, USB MIDI provides the lowest latency.

Verify Bluetooth Permissions

If the app isn't working properly, check iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth and make sure simpleMIDIController has permission enabled.
