Welcome to P73 support.
P73 is an AUv3 audio effect plug-in modeled on a classic British mic-preamp/EQ channel strip, for iOS, iPadOS and macOS. It runs inside any AUv3 host (AUM, GarageBand, Logic Pro, etc.) as well as a standalone app.
Features
Faithful Gain Staging
A 21-step GAIN control spans LINE (−20 dB to +10 dB, unity gain-staged) and MIC (+20 dB to +80 dB, scaled and partially compensated for line-level material) ranges, driving an asymmetric Class-A style saturator for authentic harmonic coloration.
Input & Output Transformer Modeling
Both the input and output stages model transformer flux saturation and high-frequency resonance, contributing the characteristic warmth of the hardware this plug-in draws inspiration from.
3-Band Sweepable EQ
High-pass filter (4 frequencies) plus Low/Mid/High shelf and bell bands with switchable frequency steps and continuous gain, faithful to the original channel strip's EQ section, including proportional-Q behavior on the mid band.
4x/2x Oversampling
The nonlinear signal path runs oversampled (4x at 44.1/48kHz, 2x at 88.2/96kHz) through a Kaiser-windowed halfband filter chain to keep aliasing well below audible levels even when driven hard.
Phase Invert & Peak Metering
A phase-invert switch and a saturation-responsive PEAK indicator round out the panel.
System Requirements
- iOS / iPadOS 16+ or macOS 13+
- An AUv3-compatible host (AUM, GarageBand, Logic Pro, etc.), or use the included standalone app
