Welcome to MyEQ support.
MyEQ is a system-wide equalizer for your Mac. It lives quietly in the menu bar and applies an equalizer to your Mac's entire audio output, no matter which app is currently playing sound.
Requirements
MyEQ requires macOS 14.2 or later.
Granting System Audio Recording Permission
To apply an equalizer to your Mac's audio, MyEQ needs permission to record system audio.
To grant permission: open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, and turn on the entry for MyEQ.
To revoke permission: go to the same location and turn the entry off. When the permission is revoked, MyEQ stops processing audio.
FAQ
The sound doesn't change when I enable MyEQ.
The Neutral preset is designed to apply no processing at all. If nothing seems to change, check whether Neutral is selected and choose a different preset.
I can't find the icon in the menu bar.
MyEQ doesn't show an icon in the Dock. Look for a waveform icon on the right side of the menu bar instead.
What happens when I switch output devices?
MyEQ automatically follows the change. If you've assigned a preset to that output device, it's restored automatically.
