Accidentally Deleted a Recording? You Can Get It Back

The Fear of Accidental Deletion

It happens to everyone. You're scrolling through your recordings, your finger slips, and the take you spent an hour perfecting is gone. Or so you thought.

Starting with 1Take v1.3.2, deleted recordings are recoverable for up to 30 days.

How It Works

When you delete a recording in 1Take, it's no longer permanently erased. Instead, the file is moved to the Files app trash — the same system that protects documents deleted from iCloud Drive.

Recovering a Deleted Recording

  1. Open the Files app on your iPhone
  2. Navigate to On My iPhone (or iCloud Drive if you have iCloud backup enabled)
  3. Find the 1Take folder
  4. Tap the ... menu and select Show Recently Deleted
  5. Find your recording and tap Recover

The recovered recording will reappear in 1Take's Recordings Library.

Important Notes

  • 30-day window: Deleted recordings are permanently removed after 30 days
  • Storage space: Deleted recordings still occupy storage space until permanently removed
  • Requires v1.3.2 or later: Recordings deleted on earlier versions cannot be recovered
  • Manual deletion available: If you need to free up space immediately, you can permanently delete from the Files app trash

Why We Added This

Recording a great performance is hard. Sometimes it takes dozens of takes to capture something truly special. The idea that a single accidental tap could destroy hours of work was unacceptable.

This feature gives you the safety net to explore your recordings library without fear. Swipe to delete freely — you can always get it back.
